New 30/20 Vision Sets
Aggressive Energy Efficiency Targets

The Link's sustainability framework puts sustainable growth, stakeholders' interests and responsible business practices at the heart of its operations. To realise these objectives and to demonstrate its leadership in environmental responsibility, The Link incorporates resource conservation strategies into its business operations.

As part of this approach, The Link announced its 20/20 vision in 2012/13, which sets a target of achieving a 20% reduction in annual energy consumption by 2020, using 2010 as a reference. This target will guide the company to become more environmentally sound through the strategic management of its energy consumption.

From 2009 to 2014, The Link has greatly reduced greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption, water use and waste production at our properties via proven technologies and innovative solutions. Compared to 2009/10, The Link's annual energy consumption for 2013/14 was reduced by 22%, surpassing the original target. Owing to the excellent performance to date, The Link changed the original 20/20 vision to the 30/20 vision, which aims to reduce annual energy consumption by 30% by 2020.

Dr Calvin Kwan, General Manager – Sustainability, said, "We are delighted to see that our company has already been able to achieve the goal of our original 20/20 vision. We will continue to further improve our energy savings strategies to meet our next ambitious target."
