Entering its 4th year, the Link University Scholarship, which aims to help youth realise dreams and ambitions, has offered scholarships to 190 promising young people embarking on university study. This year, over 350 students showed their true colours during the programme’s selection interviews, which were presided over by a judging panel comprising district councillors and representatives from government, NGOs and the education sector. Among the scholarship recipients in their 2nd to 4th years of study, 25 have received the scholarship twice or more.

An alumni group for Link scholars has been formed to help broaden the horizons of scholarship recipients through volunteering, networking and internship opportunities. 20 scholars recently joined a community service outing, honing their communication skills while sharing the fun of an art jamming session with seniors at a Free Methodist Church elderly service.

To share the joy of volunteering with colleagues, Link’s Volunteer Committee organised a number of volunteer activities, including "AVS Run & Walk for Volunteering 2018" and "Caritas Charity Bazaar". The Committee also called on Link staff to donate and wear pink on Dress Pink Day in support of the Hong Kong Cancer Fund’s campaign to raise breast cancer awareness.

As a supporting organisation of the Hong Kong Government’s “Life Buddies” youth mentoring scheme, Link is offering mentorship sessions for students from Islamic Kasim Tuet Memorial College. To give mentees a strong start in their career and life planning, the mentor group will help familiarise mentees with a real-life work environment and equip them with essential workplace social skills.
