Bespoke Delivery Services
from Market Tenants
While the demand for food delivery from restaurants surges due to the COVID-19 outbreak, fresh market tenants are also following the home delivery trend, utilising social networking apps to help customers buy and deliver fresh food products directly to their homes.
Joanne Chan, a fruit stall owner at Lok Fu Market, is one of the tenants offering bespoke fresh product ordering and delivery services – a choice, she said, inspired by her customers. “They were afraid of getting infected at fresh markets, so they asked me whether I could buy fresh products from the market on their behalf,” Joanne recalled. With a reputation of quality products and services established throughout the years, Joanne and some other fresh market tenants provide tailor- made ordering and delivery services to customers with just a few simple steps. Customers usually place orders using social networking apps the night before, and then Joanne would gather and deliver the food products to customers’ residences on the next day.
The years of running a business at Lok Fu Market have allowed us to foster customer loyalty and trust so customers feel safe letting us buy the products for them.
“What’s more, when compared to supermarkets and online shopping platforms, we have more diverse and flexible product offerings with no minimum order requirements. Customers can order cooking oil, table salts, seafood, vegetables, meat, fruits or even herbal tea from us,” Joanne said.
In addition, these fresh market tenants share daily specials and promotional items with their customers via social networking apps, so their customers do not miss attractive bargains while staying at home.
