In 2011, The Link announced a budget of no less than HK$200 million for upgrading the Barrier Free Access ("BFA") facilities in all of its properties. The work is to be accomplished according to the Best Practicable Principle and Universal Design Principle. The Link is the first private corporation to promote BFA facilities in Hong Kong. So far, BFA upgrades have been started in 73 properties, among which, 23 properties have been completed according to the Best Practicable Principle.
Beyond the provision of major BFA facilities, additional facilities will be provided for the properties based on their respective needs. To facilitate the implementation of the works, The Link appointed Joseph Kwan, an international BFA expert, as our Access Advisor. Regular meetings have been arranged to discuss the works with the Access Advisory Group which is comprised of representatives from 11 major rehabilitation organisations in Hong Kong.

領匯簽署「網絡無障礙約章」，並獲互聯網專業協會頒發感謝狀。去年六月開始，領匯網站所有上載的內容均加入多項「暢通無阻通道」的瀏覽功能，符合萬維網聯盟 World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) 的〈無障礙網頁內容指引〉2.0 版設計的國際認可標準，方便弱聽、弱視及行動不便等殘疾人士瀏覽。
「無障礙瀏覽功能」包括為每個網頁提供純文字版，同時可以放大字型至1.5倍；網頁內的所有圖像，皆附設文字說明，讓視障用戶可以利用讀字機聆聽圖像內容，方便弱視人士。此外，網頁背景和前景用上強烈的對比色彩，方便視障人士瀏覽。患有肌肉萎縮症人士如在使用滑鼠上有困難，可輕易以鍵盤選取各項功能瀏覽所有資訊。
The Link received the Certificate of Appreciation from the Internet Professional Association for signing the Web Care Charter. Since June 2011, the contents in The Link's corporate website have followed the internationally recognized Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 of World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), in designing and providing the latest web care features for people with various disabilities, including deafness/hearing impaired, blindness/low vision and limited physical movement.

還可以跟外籍教練交流，提升英語會話能力，並
透過運動擴闊社交圈子，讓假期過得既健康且充實。

The Link offered its first football and basketball training programme this summer. The two-month programme provided free sports training to children and teens in five districts at sports facilities owned by The Link. It attracted over 700 participants, including students from districts across Hong Kong and low-income families in the community.
A graduation ceremony was held at Lok Fu Plaza in Augus t, where certificates and prizes were presented to participants and winners in the inter-district competition.
The Link Community Sports Academy was established to nurture the talents of young people who are interested in sports. Ten students who exhibited outstanding ability, were selected by the Academy to become members of the Happy Valley Athletic Association, where they will receive free-of-charge football training from the Happy Valley Athletic Association Juniors. The youngsters aspire to be up-and-coming footballers in the city's thriving sport's community.
Throughout the summer holiday, The Link hosted a series of
sports-themed activities for families in its shopping centres,
giving participants the opportunity to have fun and to show their
enthusiasm for sports related activities.
To promote the "Sports For All" concept among the public, The Link will extend the model of The Link Community Sports Academy to other programmes. The events and activities will help to boost the sense of cohesion and harmony in the community.

領匯持續優化停車場設施，並一直與兩間電力公司合作，在旗下停車場增設電動車充電站，鼓勵駕車人士使用環保電動車。繼於今年1月在上水彩園廣場設置電動車快速充電站後，赤柱廣場停車場的快速充電站亦已於8月正式投入服務。赤柱是一家大小的假日消閒好去處，新增的快速充電站效率快，只須一小時就能為座駕完全充電，既能方便車主之餘，亦進一步推動電動車普及化。
領匯旗下10個停車場現有共55個電動車充電站，地點分布於九龍、新界及離島，而其中兩個車場更配備快速充電站，佔全港的三分之一。此外，領匯又引入全港首張免費泊車卡「EV Pass 」，讓電動車車主於領匯指定停車場，於電動車充電期間可享受免費泊車優惠。
The Link has been collaborating with the two power companies in Hong Kong to install charging stations for electric vehicles (EV) at The Link's car parks to encourage the use of EVs by local drivers. At present, 55 charging stations have been installed in 10 car parks and two of which are equipped with quick-charging systems, including Stanley Plaza and Choi Yuen Plaza in Sheung Shui. EV drivers can enjoy free parking during the charging period at The Link's car parks.
Operating 178 car parks with close to 80,000 parking lots, The Link plays a key role in the development of charging systems for electric vehicles in Hong Kong.

由環保促進會主辦的『香港國際海岸清潔運動2012』，揭幕禮於9月15日在赤柱廣場舉行，大會號召香港市民共同參與這項國際性保護海洋活動，務求藉此提高大眾對海岸清潔的意識，攜手解決日趨嚴重的海洋污染問題。
是項活動於1986年由美國海洋保育協會創辦，至今已舉辦了26年，目的是鼓勵大眾清除堆積 在世界各海灘和水道的廢物，並加強對海洋廢物源頭的認識，以及改變污染環境的習慣。
是次舉行揭幕禮的赤柱廣場亦全力支持保護環境。廣場在設計及建築上糅合多項環保元素，並採納多項節能減廢的環保設計，於本年3月更獲香港環保建築協會頒發白金評級認證，為領匯物業組合內首個獲得這項認證的物 業。

At the opening ceremony, the organiser called for
the Hong Kong community to join the global marine
conservation, so as to enhance public awareness of
coastal cleanliness and to solve the worsening problem
of marine debris. Initiated by the Ocean
Conservancy, the event is now in
its 26th year. It aims to engage citizens
to remove trash and debris from beaches and waterways around the world, identify the sources of debris and change the behavioral patterns that causing water pollution.
